Allan Appointed Vice President of Hawaii Operations at Linthicum

PHOENIX – Phoenix-based general construction company, Linthicum has promoted Vann Allan to vice president of Hawaii operations as the company continues to grow its projects in the mid-Pacific.

A six-year Linthicum team member, Allan will be responsible for marketing, preconstruction, and construction activities for Linthicum's Hawaii projects. He will also be tasked with managing contract administration, procurement and subcontract negotiations, cost monitoring control and maintain his previous role as project manager of individual projects at Linthicum.

Allan completed the review, qualification, and testing process to become the Responsible Managing Employee (RME) on Linthicum's Hawaii license. He obtained a bachelor's degree in agricultural development with an emphasis in construction science and architecture from Texas A&M.

He recently led the project management for the new seven-story Aloft Tucson University hotel conversion built for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, the complex Kukui'ula Clubhouse on Kauai and the Tropical Garden Collection featuring plantation-style cottages located in the high-end Kukui'ula community.

Linthicum Completes Construction for Aloft Tucson University

Tucson, Ariz. – Linthicum has completed construction of the seven-story hotel conversion for Aloft Tucson University at 1900 E. Speedway Blvd. in Tucson.

Built for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Linthicum performed an extensive demolition of the hotel down to its structural core and rebuilt the 154-room property on a fast track, 10-month construction schedule.

Located adjacent to the University of Arizona, the new Aloft hotel represents Starwood's popular "next generation" brand that features a contemporary urban feel. Linthicum built a completely new glass and stucco exterior, aluminum windows, and the Aloft signature multi-colored aluminum "swoof" on top of the hotel.

Construction also included the re:fuel eatery, re:mix lounge and w xyx indoor/outdoor lobby bar; the "Backyard" offering lawn areas, a courtyard water feature and event space, hotel lobby featuring exposed concrete with a real time stock market ticker, re:charge fitness center, meeting space and a first-floor swimming pool remodeled and relocated from the second level.

New tile and carpet flooring, wall coverings and interior finishes including headboards featuring abstract Arizona landscape artwork was installed in the guest rooms in addition to new mechanical and electrical systems for the hotel.

The 95,000-square-foot Aloft hotel located near the University of Arizona campus, demonstrates Starwood's continued commitment to the Aloft brand.

Specialty LED lighting showcases the spectacular jewelry and exact sparkle to be elegantly displayed, while 10-foot-high custom oak louvered sliding glass doors separate the private sales area from the main showroom.

Linthicum Awarded Renovation of Desert Highlands Clubhouse

Phoenix – Linthicum has been awarded the renovation construction for the Desert Highlands clubhouse, the original luxury golf clubhouse setting the standard for magnificent golf communities built throughout the world.

Located at 10040 E. Happy Valley Road in Scottsdale, the much awarded 30,000 square-foot Desert Highlands clubhouse is widely known as one of the most spectacular architectural masterpieces. Wrapped around stunning granite outcroppings, the clubhouse appears to be born of the mountains surrounding it and features a myriad of naturally elegant textures that evokes comfort and ease.

Linthicum will be renovating the clubhouse's formal and informal dining rooms, and clubhouse bar to reflect a more sophisticated design while maintaining its casual elegance with new rustic doors, decorative chandeliers, cabinetry for wine display and storage, interior wall finishes, wood ceiling enhancements, recessed candle niches and the addition of a fireplace in the sofa lounge and a balcony fire pit creating new gathering spots.

Ochoa Appointed Accounting Vice President at Linthicum

PHOENIX – Linthicum has promoted Marcela Ochoa to accounting vice president, according to Eric Linthicum, CEO of the general construction company.

A nine-year veteran of the construction industry, Ochoa will handle all banking, financial statements, tax reporting, payroll and employee benefits, insurance, fixed assets, IT and supervision of office personnel.

She will also oversee project coordination for all commercial projects including license administration, asset disposition and facilities management at Linthicum.

Ochoa previously served as controller for Linthicum.

She is a member of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA). Ochoa earned a bachelor's of science degree in accounting from DeVry University.

"Ochoa's extensive accounting and construction experience, combined with her consultant and employee management skills, qualifies her tremendously to lead the accounting practices of Linthicum," said Linthicum.

Linthicum Completes Corporate Headquarters for Boccieri Golf; Commences Construction for James Elliot Boutique Jewelry Store

Corporate Office and Retail Tenant Improvement Projects Located in Scottsdale

Phoenix – Linthicum has completed construction of the 9,000-square-foot Boccieri Golf corporate headquarters, research and performance center located at 15816 N. Greenway-Hayden Loop in the Scottsdale Airpark.

The commercial office tenant improvement project included creating a custom environment for Boccieri Golf's showroom with putting green, golf club assembly for its proprietary club fitting program, storage facility and corporate office space.

Boccieri Golf relocated its headquarters from Connecticut. The rapidly growing golf equipment company is known for its innovative Control Series golf clubs including its "heavy putter" and "heavy iron".

Linthicum has started construction of a new retail boutique store for James Elliot, a high-end jewelry designer moving from the Borgata of Scottsdale.

The retail tenant improvement project is located at 7293 N. Scottsdale Road in the Artesia retail center. James Elliot designs and restores rings, necklaces, earrings and bracelets and specializes in the creation of diamond jewelry. Project completion is scheduled for this fall.
